Tjarrambayi Arts
Overview
Tjarrambayi Arts is an Aboriginal owned and led art gallery and cultural tourism enterprise based in Kununurra, Western Australia. The organisation showcases authentic Aboriginal artworks from across the Kimberley region while creating sustainable income and employment opportunities for Aboriginal artists.
Operating as both an online and physical gallery, Tjarrambayi Arts supports artists to create, exhibit, market and sell their work ethically, with strong respect for cultural authority, Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property, and fair payment practices.
In addition to art sales, Tjarrambayi Arts delivers Aboriginal led cultural tourism experiences, including gallery storytelling tours and hands on art workshops. These experiences provide visitors with meaningful opportunities to learn about Kimberley culture, storytelling and contemporary Aboriginal art practice directly from artists.
Tjarrambayi Arts operates as a working cultural space, not just a retail gallery, offering a culturally safe environment where artists can create, connect, heal and earn income through their art practice. The organisation places a strong focus on inclusion, accessibility and community wellbeing, particularly for Aboriginal people living away from their traditional lands.
