ATIC (Australian Tourism Industry Council) operates the Accessible Tourism module within the broader Quality Tourism Framework (QTF). It helps tourism businesses evaluate and share detailed accessibility information - covering cognitive/autism support, mobility, low vision and hearing, and wheelchair/scooter access, so people with diverse needs can make informed decisions when seeking experiences.
Kununurra Visitor Centre completed its ATIC Accessibility self-assessment in April 2024 and as a result received a comprehensive Accessibility Information Guide to share with visitors. This accreditation signals that the Centre is committed to being welcoming and accessible to travellers with varied ability needs.
How this benefits our Visitors:
- Pre-visit planning: You can review specific details (e.g. ramp access) to assess whether the facility meets your requirements
- Transparent information: The guide contains real world descriptions of what is in place - no guesswork!
- Confidence in accessibility: The ATIC process ensures that Kununurra Visitor Centre meets a reliable standard for inclusivity
For tailored accessibility details, you can find our ATIC Accessibility Guide here!
By completing the ATIC Accessibility Accreditation, the Kununurra Visitor Centre has shown a strong commitment to inclusivity and continues to provide transparent, practical information to help visitors with access needs plan confidently.
