On 22 July 2028, a spectacular total solar eclipse will sweep across the Kimberley region in north-western Western Australia, delivering more than five minutes of total darkness at its peak in a number of locations. In places such as Kununurra, Wyndham and Purnululu National Park, the Moon will perfectly align with the Sun, plunging the landscape into a surreal midday twilight.
The East Kimberley will be one of the very best places in the world to witness this rare event, thanks to its wide-open landscapes, minimal light pollution, and typically cloud-free dry-season skies in July. With crisp, clear air and uninterrupted horizons, viewers in the East Kimberley are almost guaranteed a front-row seat to one of nature’s most breathtaking spectacles before the eclipse path continues across Australia toward Sydney.

Plans are underway for the 2028 Solar Eclipse, and we will update this site with details about accommodation, tours and events in the coming months, and also keep an eye out on our Facebook page as we release times and dates.
