HeliSpirit is an award winning, eco accredited helicopter tour business operating across the Kimberley, Western Australia. The Kimberley region in Australia’s North West is one of the worlds last frontiers. An ancient land of astounding natural beauty, it hides its secrets well, until you take to the air.
HeliSpirit’s fleet of beautifully presented helicopters operate at nine bases across the Kimberley, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Experience the wonders of the Bungle Bungle, Mitchell Falls, Lake Argyle, El Questro, Karratha and more. Land on a mountain pinnacle to watch the sunset, soar through ancient gorges, swim at waterfalls inaccessible by other means or simply sit back and marvel at the vast landscapes of the very north west of Australia.
HeliSpirit flights are on offer all year round from Kununurra, with flights from the remote bases being seasonal, in line with the opening dates of the properties or national parks in which they operate.

HeliSpirit has a rich history dating back to 1984 when the company became the pioneers of scenic helicopter flights over the World Heritage listed Bungle Bungle Range. HeliSpirit is proudly locally owned and operated from within Western Australia.
HeliSpirit, together with sister company Aviair, is one of Western Australia’s most successful air tour operators and has won twenty-four tourism awards since 1996, including the Sir David Brand Award for tourism on three separate occasions, and has been inducted into the WA Tourism Hall of Fame twice. HeliSpirit has earned National Eco-Tourism accreditation as a Green Travel Leader, has been eco-certified since 2002 and holds national tourism quality assurance accreditation.

Cancellation policy
CANCELLATION POLICY
DAY FLIGHTS / TOURS
Within 24 hours or less of departure: NON-REFUNDABLE
25 hours to 7 days prior to departure: 20% administration fee will be charged per booking
OVERNIGHT TOUR PACKAGES
Within 7 days or less of departure: NON-REFUNDABLE
8 days to 14 days prior to departure: 50% of booking will be retained
15 days to 30 days prior to departure: 20% of booking will be retained
EXTENDED SAFARIS
Within 60 days or less to departure: NON-REFUNDABLE
61 days or more prior to departure: 20% deposit will be retained.
COVID-19 policy
Our Standard cancellation policy remains in place however if guests are unable to travel due to Government border closures or travel restrictions that restrict the client from entering the Kimberley at the time of travel we will offer to amend the travel dates (at rate booked) or cancel without fee.
Cancellations must be advised in writing
INSURANCE | We strongly recommend that all customers take out travel insurance. In the event of a tour being cancelled by us customers will be entitled to a full refund without penalty.
PAYMENT CONDITIONS | To confirm your reservation full payment must be made unless you have an existing account with us. All existing accounts are strictly 14 days. Payment can be made via credit card bank deposit or cash. AMEX cards will attract a 2% surcharge.
MINIMUM NUMBERS | A minimum of 2 passengers or the equivalent cost is required to confirm a tour booking unless the tour is already confirmed to run. Please call our reservations team to check availability for one passenger. All overnight packages rates are Twin Share Single Supplement prices are available.
CHILD AGE / INFANT POLICY | Infants are classified as 0-2 years and may travel free of charge on their parent’s lap with lap strap. Please note that only one infant may travel per aircraft. Children are classified as 3-12 years of age inclusive and must be accompanied by an adult on flights.
DISABLED PASSENGERS | Please advise the level of assistance required with a minimum of 48 hours prior to departure time. Staff are not permitted to lift any passengers.
CHECK IN TIME | Passengers must be at the aircraft departure point / tour departure point no later than 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.
COMMENTARY | All scenic flights and tours include personalised commentary by the pilot / tour guide. All tours and safety briefings are conducted in English.
SEAT WEIGHT LIMIT | The maximum seat weight limit on the Robinson R44 & R66 helicopter is 136kg. for all other helicopter types, the maximum seat limit is 150kg. Please check with our reservations which aircraft is running on the day of the tour.
PERSONAL ITEMS | All care is taken but no liability is accepted for damage to personal items. For lost property please contact the office you departed your flight.
CAMERAS | Cameras and phones must have a lanyard / wrist strap. Tablets and iPads are not permitted to be used on board.
LUGGAGE RESTRICTIONS | We prefer soft luggage only and a maximum of 8kg per person.
SEASONALITY | Opening and closing dates of our remote bases during the dry season may vary. Please contact our Kununurra office for more information (08) 9168 1101.
VALIDITY OF RATES | Prices quoted are subject to change. All prices are in Australian dollars ($AUD). Tours paid for in full are protected from price increases. In the event of HeliSpirit introducing a special offer or rates that are discounted against the standard rate retrospective refunds will not be permitted.
HOTEL TRANSFERS | Complimentary pick up/drop offs are available for all flights which depart Kununurra. Pick up will be 30 minutes prior to flight departure and available from all Hotel Motels and Caravan Parks within Kununurra Township. Please advise at the time of booking if you require a pick-up or call the HeliSpirit office directly on (08) 9168 1110 no later than 3pm the day prior to departure.
GOVERNMENT CHARGES | Our prices are fully inclusive of all government environmental and airport levies.
ITINERARIES | Whilst it is our intention to deliver the itinerary of your choice unforeseen circumstances such as the nature of the terrain unseasonable weather national park area closures and so on travelling conditions may be affected and therefore make it necessary to alter touring with little or no notice.
FUEL SURCHARGE | In the event of significant upward movement in the cost of aviation fuel we reserve the right to introduce a fuel surcharge. This shall be advised in writing no less than two months prior to its commencement and will be additionally advised at the time of booking confirmation.
CUSTOMER INFORMATION AND PRIVACY | We require customer information for all reservations that we accept including full passenger name passenger weight contact telephone number and email address. Passenger information will be retained by us in accordance with our Privacy Policy which may be viewed on our Privacy Policy page on our website. We require passenger contact information to allow us to make contact with passengers in the event of occurrences including but not limited to adverse weather conditions on the rare occasion that a tour time may be rescheduled or in the event that personal property has been left behind after a tour.
