Valentine Spring - Barndawooba
Valentine Spring is located 19km from Kununurra, down Valentine Spring Road (turn off Victoria Highway 12km west of Kununurra). This site has a seasonal pool that is part of the Valentine Creek, which runs into the Ord River. Local Miriwoong people traditionally used this pool for hunting, fishing, collecting bush food and camping. Occasionally Saltwater Crocodiles can be found in this area. Swimming is not recommended.

Hoochery Distillery
Built on the Dessert family farm just outside of Kununurra, the small pot distillery and the building itself were created entirely by hand and is the oldest operating legal still in WA. Inside has been built to look like an old wild west saloon. Award winning rum (Best Australian Rum in 2023), and the famous Ord River rum cake make it well worth the drive! Kununurra Museum
At present the Kununurra Museum is Open Mon-Fri - 12.30 to 5.30pm (Always dependent on dedicated volunteer availability). The wet season is a good chance for locals to see their history - So if the gate is open and Open signs out - Please feel free to come in and soak up some Ord River history.
