Mirima National Park
Overview
Known locally as the ‘mini–Bungle Bungles’ or Hidden Valley, Mirima National Park is located on the eastern edge of Kununurra.
Mirima National Park is a small park with remarkable ancient rock formations. The sandstone ranges, cliffs and valleys are similar in appearance to parts of the Bungle Bungle. The 350-million-year-old sandstone features have been shaped in spectacular ways and are subject to some striking colour changes due to sunlight variances and is well known for spectacular photo opportunities.
Mirima is the name given to the area by the local Miriuwung people and retains many sites of significance.
There are many walks within the park, each offering stunning views and each at varying levels of distance and difficulty. If it is hot, walking early morning or late afternoon is recommended.
Open all year round.
